List building basics to skyrocket your results
Hi and welcome once again! Today I want to talk to you about list building, most of the basics and why you should invest time on it, hope you enjoy it.
I am doing my best to start the week the best way possible, doing each of my goals for the day is part of being active, massive action.
The money is in the list, you can find this sentence because it is true. It does not really matter what kind of niche you have, having your own list will help your business. You can have a personal contact with them while you provide a quality free content, being able to provide help while making money sounds great, right?
That is the main reason why list building should be part of your strategy, not only to make leads and sales but to promote your brand and reach.
If you are a little confuse about email marketing or list building I will explain the basics to you. Email marketing consist about sending emails to targeted traffic to make results such us traffic, leads or even provide help wich should be your main choice.
In the other hand, list building is the art of expanding your list, the more people you have the more emails you can send. You can find people who allow you to use their list for a little coin but I will be talking about that in another post. These leads will exchange their emails with you for some value in return, could be a free video, a free book, a tutorial or anything worth for your readers.
The hard part is to find these leads, that is why your free gift should be something really good, make a good first impression.
The most common strategy to increase your subscribers is to offer a free gift as I told you before, something with high value for free, maybe a free video, a free report, a free tutorial or a free ebook. You can be creative and find other things to offer. If it is worth for your readers it will convert well.
Of course, should be something related to your niche, there is no point to give away a free ebook about cooking if your niche is about music, it will not make any sense for people to join.
Sell the problem you solve, not the product.
For example, you can offer a free ebook about how to create an amazing following on Pinterest, people will join your list to get this awesome information from you, try your best to provide high-quality content so you can warm up your list day after day to eventually make sales out of it, 70% help and 30% promotion are your lucky numbers.
Do not try to make money right away, you need to build trust first. Let your list know you and believe in you, be a problem solver to them but never pretend, be honest and be yourself.
When talking about list building, trust is very important. If you can offer good stuff to your list, they will trust. You should care about your list as much as possible, try your best to be a problem solver and connect with them with great stories, then you can promote something, they will be more likely to check it if they know you rather than just trying to make sales right away after they join.
You need to remember that your reputation is everything you have as an entrepreneur, online business or small business, provide and promote only good things you know, you cannot promote something you do not even know just to make money or write about something you have no knowledge, be real because list building can turn into your main income source and traffic.
If you promote or send bad content, people will unsubscribe from you and they will not trust you anymore, avoid doing that at all cost.
Your list is everything, you need to take care of it. If your list were a plant, first you put a seed in the ground and make it grow, that is exactly what you need to do, step by step do not rush things.
A good way to create a relationship is being honest and sharing a story, storytelling can be very powerful when talking about marketing and list building, very interesting topic and I will be writing about that in the future. Sharing a story or experience can make a difference when you want to stand out from the rest, people can feel the same way as you or maybe they had the same experience so you can start a conversation with your awesome readers.
Do not just promote things, you do not want to be the one who is getting the emails deleted or ignored, you want to be the one they search when looking to solve something. I like the 70-30 rule, 70% quality content – 30% promotion not only for list building but also to social media.
People can get bored of you and your offers, maybe they unsubscribe because of that, offer value, build trust then promote. As I told you before, when doing promotions you need quality, something you know, something that you can suggest to a close friend, that is the quality I am talking about, forget about making money and focus on providing value and help, that is the best way to make money.

You can promote your list building on your blog, on social media or forums, the choice to do paid traffic is up to you but I will be talking about that and some other related topics in another post.
Try not to overwhelm them either, even if you send really good content do not spam 20 emails a day because that is spam.
Most internet marketers work promoting products for someone else and they have good commissions but if you have your own list you can sell directly there, aiming for a huge number will be the real goal for any email marketer out there starting with list building, always look for more there is no good number to stop growing your list, just keep doing it even bigger day after day.
Smart marketers have their own list and they use this method before sending that person to the sale, otherwise they will only make a single commission out of it and the client will be lost. With a list, the client is always there to help and provide other products!
If they buy something from you, they will be more likely to buy again, that is for sure. A happy client will always return.
